Buyers of the 2020 Santa Fe have a choice of two powerful engines: the Theta II 2.4-liter GDI 4-cylinder engine and the Theta II 2.0-liter Turbo GDI 4-cylinder engine. The 2.4L engine, with its naturally aspirated intake system, doles out 185 horsepower and 178 lb-ft of torque. The 2.0L engine, with its turbocharged intake system, cranks out 235 horsepower and 264 lb-ft of torque. Both engines have a Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) fuel system, a single tip exhaust system, and a distributorless ignition system.
